Me and breakdancer have been thinking and we have been giving free swapits for months. We don’t really get much credit in doing this.  All we get is people saying ‘Thanks’ It isn’t really enough.  We would like to both be moderators in the ‘Swapits Codes / Hunts / Quizzes / Comps’ section. So we can control it even more. By making both us mods we would like to:

1. Cut down to only one thread. Where me and breakdancer can edit and update.

2. Sort the threads out, if they are invalid to move them into the ‘Expired Codes’ Section. As we are tired of messing around and asking mods to put them in that section.

We would like to do this two things as it would make it easier for us. It would mean users have only one thread to check instead of checking two and then typing them in twice. It would allow us to control it with ease.

1) Requests for moderator powers have never been fulfilled in the past
2) Two extra moderators is out of the question, one extra is a minor possibility
3) At the moment its a straight no, because as a moderator you would have access to non-user areas, which isn't fair. After we switch to phpBB there may be ways to constrict you're powers to ensure you can only edit posts.
4) If thanks isn't enough you should ask for karma/comments/tokens etc. and be grateful people are polite enough to thank you.
5) You could use one thread at the moment, with just one of you updating, the other providing codes etc.
6) The crying smiley is lame and makes it seem like you're begging.

I see where you are coming from KCLiVeS and we do ask for all those things but many people don't give us them. They don't even post and take the codes! If we did do number 5, one person would gt all the credit. If I ran it then breakdancer would't get much credit. It should be made by a new user and our usernames will be they to give us equal credit.

Would they be a way of setting up a hidden group and we can just to those two things? So you would set it to only edit posts and moving them in only 1 section. When you set up a group you would need permission to be a moderator in the other sections. You can do it with PHPBB 2. It does't have to be PHPBB 3

If you moderate one forum, you have access to the moderator-only forums whether or not its a group, therefore still a no.

It would't let you view the staff-only forum. If the staff only forum is on 'Private' Then you can just put it to Disallowed Access.

If it is't you just go to group permissions and only make them a mod on that section. It does't make them view the forum!


You could test it with a username on this forum, to see if it does't show!

I've never seen you submit a code anyway A-S All the codes in your code thread have been submitted by other members The only regular member whos submits codes is breakdancer, and at times other members, but never you... So if anyone should get a mods place for that particular section is breakdancer!

True. Although we work together. But as KCLiVeS said we can't be a mod. So if we can try and get a group then that would be great

I think that would be a great idea simple reason is that members are doing what they like in the code section and nothing is being done about it.so with me and daniel running the code section at least we be able to clear all the mess that has been made in the section.

Well in that case get the code section cleaned up as it looks a right mess with members getting away with a lot and doing what they like in there.

Why should i do that when i have posted it in the code section reported to topics that want's deleting in there,so i'm going to see how long it takes for those 2 topics to be sorted.
