QUESTION:- Help needed please:- Sometimes, in the forum here (and others we belong to) and on SS  we see "search fred bloggs for other great swaps" (NOTE!:- fred bloggs is an example)
Sometimes, upon searching that username, we find all their current listed swaps, but sometimes not. Also, we have done that ourselves, in description, when posting a swap (added "Search ***** (< username) for other current swaps*) but we (our username) never comes up when searching for our own username (even though we have a few current swaps)
Why?
Could someone please tell us how to do it so it works or tell us why it does not work for us but does for others?

hi you need to write your username in all the swaps you put on SS and then search it and should definlty come up...

We have done this (and made sure we waited until all swaps we posted are up) but still did not happen

BTW (By the way) our name on this forum is NOT our SS username.
Due to some bad family problems, we unfortunately, had to go off line all of a sudden, well over a year ago, and some current swaps that had been won, were never posted off We are so sorry about this but at the time things were bad and we could not post (so very sorry to anyone on this forum who waited on a swap from us - it was never our intention to not send)
We did not want to join this forum with our proper SS name incase anyone here remembered our nick and had not received a swap from us, cos they would have maybe given negative feedback (understandable if they did not receive a swap from us, but it was waaaaaaaaaay beyond us to be able to do anything, at the time)
We did post lots of swaps back then, some were great bargains too and many were won and sent, in time and all was well (we also bought a good few things)

We are, happily, now back on line and have posted some swaps in past couple of weeks and two have been won and sent, and all others will be (2 more won in past two days and will be sent today) so we hope to get our rating back up and good, soonest.

Telling the truth here, cos is the best way.

If your username contains non-alphanumeric symbols like "!" or even "_" and "-" then that can sometimes mess up a search for that username

Ah, thankyou Jack, for your reply ... yep, that would be why we have no luck then - we have an underscore  _ in our nick    LOL
Oh well, never mind, hopefully once we get more ratings points and people see past the negative ie when we send in even more swaps ok and get more rating points and the minus points from the past fade into time a bit and the more people see we DO send and offer well, the more people will bid on our stuff and trust us

If u email or phone swapitshop up they can change your nickname to one thats better for u.

It will be a lot easier for u if u can get the search username thing to work cos it helps sell your items.

Then u can make it your sig here and people on here can then click on it like mine thats a lot more sales for you.

Thanks, yes, I think we might do that, it would be good to be able to let people search all our offers because we make a lot now.

OK well we are now known on swapitshop as        everhopeful  
same as our member name for this forum, so thats good  
We used to be The_Scorpion
Now at least our nick should show up for "search everhopeful for more of my swaps".
Once again, as we have nothing to hide, we would just like to state that due to family problems over a year ago, we had to go offline all of a sudden and had swaps won that needed to be posted off but they were not, apologies to anyone who may have been one of those who did not recieve their swap but it was way beyound our control.
We are back online now, buying AND swapping again and happy to be so and we hope anyone who gets stuff from us (or already has, as we have put up and had won, quite a few things the past few weeks) enjoys what we swap. Also, looking forward to getting stuff from many of you in the future.

Currently we have just some books and a cdrom to learn to type up on swapitshop but more will be added in a few days.
