Cannabis Now Class B !Home Secretary Jacqui Smith has confirmed in the House of Commons that cannabis will be upgraded from a Class C to a Class B drug, defying the advice of the government's own experts. Do you view this as a welcome move against a harmful, illegal substance, or a futile gesture that overplays the risks? Our news editor gives her opinion.
My opinion:
And once again this is stupidity at it's best.
If drugs were legal then all the drug squad could be freed up to concentrate on organised crime, saving money and police time aswell as freeing up loads of places in prisons.
No one has the right to tell another free thinking adult what they can and cannot put into they're own bodies.
It is an infringement of your human rights.
You go to court and swear on the bible, if you believe in that, then how can you say that one of gods own creations is evil, that smacks of hipocrisy i think.
live and let live then maybe the police can catch some proper evil people.
People need crutches in life, that can be anythingfrom heroin to adrenalin, all affect the mind and body.
It's your body to do as you please whether that be abuse, mutilation, or suicide.
Get of your high horse qand let people live.
How much does the drug squad cost every year
How much is paid for useless information
How much for undercover police officers
How much for court time
How much to keep a prisoner
The list is endless, add it all up and you get a massive sum that can be used to combat real crimes that are destroying peoples lives.
Wake up society, prohibition does not work.
| Quote: | | Well what can I say. I had a very bad accident 10 years ago (nerve damage & broken back) No legal prescribed drugs would take away my pain and allow me to sleep for more than 2 hours at any one time .A top surgeon recommended cannabis to me ,I thought he was mad at the time ,,,,Until The pain got to much, I was guided to where i could obtain this magical cure drug for less than the price of my prescriptions ????? I have never looked back ,and can lead a normal life ,Really I am not addicted I leave it off for a few weeks at a time but when the pain strike again I just go back to it. I know I am not on my own with this I am a respectable 45 year old with respectable kids,But because of cannabis I can have a normal life. The upgrade to class B is the wrong move the government are saying they have lost the battle to keep it as a class C. idiots. |

DaSwapitsDude, Canabis doesn't only affect you, it affects the people having the grow it, to sell it, and to risk a lot, just for some crackheads.
I think they should execute people who take it, as long as it is not prescribed.

I think it should be put up to B, however if you are in a medical condition you can actually be prescribed drugs legally.
I'm not sure whether or not this should be on the forum seeing as there are like eight year olds here!

I voted no, it will just cause more trouble with people trying to buy it!
I never understood before why the goverment said it was legal to smoke a little bit, but illegal to buy it, how can you smoke a little bit if you can't buy?

Only idiots would think it's 'cooler'.
I'm glad they're putting it back up to a Class B drug, although I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make. People don't seem to realise how serious they can be, especially kids.
I live in quite a small town but cannabis has been quite a big thing here lately - last summer a boy got stabbed to death by his friend at a party who was high on cannabis. Also there's a cannabis cafe not far from my house that the police have done several raids on but they never find enough hard evidence to do anything much about it.

I know only idiots would think it would be cooler but c'mon there are idiots everywhere!
Its good that you will get punnished more for class b for idiots using it but it may bring more users because you are being more illegal.
I do not smoke any illegal drugs ( ive had pms )
I am just stating my point of view!

I enjoy a spliff now and again ........ NOT... Any drug has an effect on the user, at one pont eventualy, but it's not just the user that's affected, it has a knock on effect with everyone around them * Family friends etc *
I'm glad it's been made a class B
