Ever wondered how swapitshop make their money...?Swapitshopare a business, right.
And busineeses need moneyin order to keep running. To employ their staff... buy equipment to process swaps.. buy things to sell to us.. ect.. ect.
But haven't you ever wondered where they get that from?
Recently swapitshop have been selling really expensive stuff like.. nintendo ds lites.. nintendo wii's.. games.. top ten DVD's..ipods... gift vouchers.. that sort of stuff, some of which costs hundreds of pounds. Even if they buy it in bulk.. which i'm sure they do.. it's still gunna cost quite a lot. They buy stuff (with real money i think) then sell it to all of us with points. And we don't have to pay for: all their staff to process our items.. or for their customer services to reply to our comlaints.. we don't have to pay for basically.. anything. It's like ebay.. BUT ebay make their profit from taking a percentage of what we paid for the item off the seller. So they take some of the money from every product that goes on their site. Bu swapitshop don't do that. We don't pay hem for anything.. so i don't understand ho they make their money to keep buying stuff to sel to us with points,.. which if you think about.. are actually invaluable foir anything apart from swapitshop

My understanding is that they arrange partnership deals with certain companies, for example the producers of Bee Movie, and they are given products for free to sell on the site. They are also paid commission by these companies to advertise their products through selling them.
I've always thought it's something along those lines anyway.

From what I've heard is that companies pay them to promote their items, so basically SwapitShop get free goods, they sell them and the company which paid SwapitShop get advertised.

oh right.. yes that does make sense with the bee movie stuff. But selling nintendo wii's and nintendo ds's isn't promoting them.. it's just costing swapitshop..??

and some of the more expensive items like ipods. They probly buy from normal swappers and re-sell

no  SwapitShop only sell brand new consoles, ipods etc
SwapitShop make money from the following:
Advertising
Polls and Surveys
A percentage of the postage (Royal Mail will give them the percentage if whatever is payed)
cant think of the others at the moment

they get government funding for providing a service
and they get money from schools for swapits for schools because it promotes good behavior

Yeah, they don't actually buy the nintendo wii's. They made a contract (or something) with them. And anyway, swapitshop's owned by the bbc isn't it? So i doub they'd have problems with money.

Their not botherd about SwapitShop...in the factory they have several drug plantations...never been raided tho as people belive its a kids company.....
they make money from schools,goverment,companys
the goverment see it as a possitive business as its recycling

also with other things aswell they make money.
