french

ok, so today we had a french exam and i had been revising. I knew exactly what i was going to say and everything!
The teacher only tested like three people and then two people had a fight and it all went pear shaped! I ended up not getting to do it so now I am going to have to revise again so i keep it fresh in my head.
(Btw i do not like tests i just knew all of this one)

Rant over

Sometimes that's easier said than done. It's easy if you remember the vocab and important bits of grammar. Fortunatly, I'm quite lucky in situations like that. Mon Professeur de Francais recently did an oral test, and she started asking me questions that weren't on the sheet! But they were related to what I was saying. She was expanding on them, she was like: (In French) "Who's you favourite celebrity" Obviously I answered "Nicky Wire" Then she was asking things like: "What nationality is he?" "What is he famous for?" "Does he sing in Welsh?" "Do you speak Welsh?" etc...

My advice: Don't keep revising fully, just keep looking over key points. I'm not sure what level you are, but grammar wise I'd say look over the Perfect Tense (J'ai joue/Je suis alle...I Played/I Went), I'm guessing you already know the present tense. Also throwing in opinions gets you extra marks too. (A mon avis/Selon Moi/Je pense que/Je trouve que...All folowed by c'est) If you're taking Higher level, I'd suggest looking over the Imperfect tense (Je Parlais/Etait...I was speaking/Was) and maybe the Conditional tense (e.g J'irais Australie, si J'etais riche...I would go to Australia, if I was rich)

If you have anyone in the family who speaks French, ask them to test you. It's the best way to get practice, honestly!

Good luck and let us know how you get on!
