Marriage, Children, Co-Habiting, Engagement....Just had a skim through the topics in the discussions section and noticed there wasn't really one about marriage and partership in general sooo...
Basically various people I have met have had different views on what order you should do things in a relationship, such as getting engaged, having children, living with their partner etc. Some people think that it doesn't matter if you get engaged without knowing when you actually want to get married, and some people don't think it's necessary to live with their partner first before marrying them.
Some people never want to get married at all and are quite happy just co-habiting with their partner for the rest of their lives.
I was just wondering what views people have on this kind of thing?
I personally think that when you get engaged you should know when you want to actually get married, and that you should definately live with your partner before you wed! I don't think you can really know somebody fully as a person until you have lived with them. As for having children, I don't think it actually matters whether they are born to a married or unmarried couple, just as long as the relationship is stable and relatively financially secure.
