Hi all, just to let you know that I'm back from Reading Featival, and also to tell you a little bit about it. I'm still on a high as it was absoloutly amazing! I'm safe and sound, except from a long red mark on my face where I got hit with a glow stick during the Ting Tings set.

I saw: The Enemy, Queens Of The Stone Age, Rage Against The Machine, Metallica, Tenacious D, Santogold, Seasick Steve, Foals, Ting Tings, Mystery Jets, Justice and of course MANIC STREET PREACHERS!!
(Definiatly one of the highlights)

I also queued up for two hours to meet them in the NME Signing tent, mangaged to get their autographs, which are now on my bedroom wall in a frame, and a kiss on the cheek from Nicky Wire, who then looked round suspiciously and said "Don't tell my wife."

I missed a few bands I wanted to see, mainly The Killers, due to having to stay at one stage for the whole day, and they were on at the same time as the Manics. Managed to get to the front for Manics, mainly by putting on a very convincing Welsh accent and saying "I'm Welsh. Please let me through. I'm here to see the Manics! Cymru am byth!" (Wales forever in Welsh) I have yet to watch back the TV coverage, which I recorded on the new swish Sky+ box, to see if I'm on there. Will let you know if I am. Anyway, sorry to have dragged on a bit. See you soon.

Laura

E pluribus unum is a motto found on the Great Seal of the United States, along with Annuit cœptis and Novus ordo seclorum, and adopted by an Act of Congress in 1782.

While Annuit coeptis and Novus ordo seclorum appear on the reverse side of the great seal, E pluribus unum appears on the obverse side of the seal, the image of which is used as the national emblem of the United States, and appears on official documents such as passports. It also appears on the seal of the President and in the seals of the Vice President of the United States, of the United States Congress, of the United States House of Representatives, of the United States Senate and on the seal of the United States Supreme Court.

E pluribus unum is Latin for "Out of Many, One." Never codified by law, it was considered a de facto motto of the United States until 1956 when the United States Congress passed an act (H.J. Resolution 396), adopting In God We Trust as the official motto.[1] Seth Read of Uxbridge, Massachusetts was said to have been "instrumental" in the addition of "E Pluribus Unum" to U.S. Coins.[2] The first coins with this mint appeared as early as 1786 at Newburgh, New York.

E pluribus unum, written in capital letters, is included on most U.S. currency, with some exceptions to the letter spacing (such as the reverse of the dime). It is also embossed on the edge of the dollar coin. (See United States coinage and paper bills in circulation).

Originally suggesting that out of many colonies or states emerge a single nation, it has come to suggest that out of many peoples, races, and ancestries has emerged a single people and nation – illustrating the concept of the melting pot.

Its Anglicized pronunciation is IPA: /ˈiː ˈplʊərɨbəs ˈuːnəm /, Latin IPA: [ˈeː ˈpluːribus ˈuːnum].
