Half day on FridaysAt my school we get let out at 1:10 on Fridays, and I was just wondering if anyone elses does?

I don't understand how schools are allowed to let you out earlier than about 3pm, aren't they supposed to be teaching you for a set amount of hours per week?
A school near me used to let the kids out at about 2:30 on Fridays but I don't know if they still do it. At my school I was always there 9 til 3:30.

we never had half day on friday but it was good that we had full day so i could say goodbye to the year 11's
was a sad moment.....lol

I cannot seem to understand why so actually like coming home from school earlier that usual - there are children at the other side of the World to you who would absolutely love to take your place and get a proper eduction.

My School (Glenburn Sports College) Starts from 8:40am until 3:10pm

Our school is 8.45 to 3.10pm.
No half days, apart from if its the last day of term, we sometimes used to get a half day then..
I've finished now though, so no more school  - Going to sixth form in september though .

We End At 3:00 And Start At 8:40
