Religion?Ok so I admit that I am athiest, I still like people with religions, and I have some highly religious best friends.
I thought it'd be best to tell you that before I started my rant so you didnt judge me.
Ok, well the concept of religion seems way too...

I mean, since when can a guy sit on a cloud and be everywhere at the same time unless he was like HUGELY overweight, and if he was overweight then he wouldnt be able to sit on a cloud now would he?
I think jesus was just some crazy guy who thought he knew and this guy "god" and blah blah blah, brainwashed everyone.
As for other religions, I basically think they started in the same kinda way, crazy guy who thought he knew loads of stuff about the religions leader, and made a book about it.
Yeah so there is my opinion.

Are you referring to God? No religion believes he sits on a cloud

since the existence of god can neither be proven or disproven.

True, we will never find the answers. I also think a lot of it is just myths and bedtime stories. How can Jesus do all this stuff like turn water into wine that is impossible? Well, it's not completly impossible, it's just very unlikely.

It'd be better if you changed the title to "Christianity" as not every religion believes in a god, like Buddhism.

God isnt a person, he is only called 'He' (generally) as a form of respect, i mean, calling the creator of everything 'it' wouldnt be very nice would it.
and 'He' isnt a person like me or you, he is only depicted as one so that we can relate to him assome sort of a stereotypical father figure.
Hes a force, i mean, airs everywhere (basically) in our atmosphere but you dont here physicists say ' well, we have concluded that air must be really fat to be everywhere at once'
now thats stupid.
but yeh, i guess if you dont believe in God then you wouldnt really underrstand, but it sounds like your making fun of something that a lot of people believe in.

Just because someone is religious doesn't mean they have been brainwashed. Someone who is religous might say that you've been brainwashed into not being religous.

Ha, 90% of the people that i know that are religious, believe a different religion to their parents.
saying everyone who is religious has be brainwashed by their parents is the most retarded thing ive heard in a while on SwapitShop Lounge.
Anyway if yoo think about it (this may be controversial and ill probably get a load of 'shutup. yoo dont know what your talking about') but anyway, all mainstream religions (disregarding buddhism) are basically the same, just with different names, and the odd person left out/added in etc.

we dont know if there is a god. i believe there is as there are so many complicated things. how could humans just appear and be made so well (meaning like the lungs, heart e.c.t)

Gives people someone to look up to
Gives people guidelines and rules
A sense of good in someones life.
Against religion:
Very unrealistic
No-one actually has proof of these "beings"
I personally do not belive in anything to do with religion.  But, that's just me.

I think that a bunch of fishermen (Jesus and his disciples) were getting high on a field and then one of them called Jesus was like "look I'm walking on water" and the others thought they saw him do it and they were like "it's a miracle" and then they went and told the villagers and they all wrote a book about what the fisherman named Jesus was supposed to have done and his friends, or 'disciples'.
That's what me and my dad came up with one time anyway.
I think that someone, or a group of people, from not long after humans first evolved wrote the basic ideas behind all the relgions down in symbols or the language they used and then it got discovered years later and there was argument over how it is translated, that then lead to the different holy books and then people just believed them as they were looking for an answer.
Or maybe a man called Jesus did something heroic and then the rumours got exageratted as they got passed on into "he walked on water" and "he cured this uncurable disease" etc. and everyone believed it and then he went along with it and told them he was the son of God or his mates did, maybe.
Anyway, there my theories and in case you hadn't guessed I believe in evolution.
