top console ?what would you say is and why?
i would say PC (not really a console  ) but it is not bad because most games released on xbox will probably be made on PC especially as they are owned by Microsoft,
Give it a few months and the game will be on PC, and the only purchases you need to make are game purchases and graphics card

or you buy a console which is cheaper than the PC, and then you dont have to buy any hardware add ons other than maybe extra controllers or a headset again??
and just buy the games

yeah fair enough, but people do sometimes leave there old consoles and want to buy the new one, but your sticking to the xbox =]

If you want a gaming pc don't get a laptop as you cant change the graphics cad,processor etc. and the graphics card hey come with are usually c***.

i do have an original xbox by i never use it, why would i when i play and use my 360??
lol how can you read that thinking i have an orignal xbox and thats what i use :d
oh and Dom, my laptop has a very nice graphics card, with i think 1.7GB of RAM designated for it, it just has a c*** processor

yeah but graphics cards become outdated very quickly so give it a year and you wont be able to play all of the new games they bring out
