Ok, recently reading a thread I have been asked on how to make a profit so here are my tips on how to make a profit. As usual, feel free to post any of your own and I will add them to my post.
1) Car bootsales and second hand shops are a great place for buying stuff to buy for swapitshop. You can pick up some decent stuff for 20p, 30p, 50p ect. It can also be good for selling. Especially the promotional stuff swapitshop sells that goes for life 10-100 swapits for example them thinkuknow t-shirt go for a few swapits and I sold quite few few recently in a car bootsale for 10p each. I didn't make a fortune but every little helps.
2) Woolworths is a great place to buy older PC games and DVDs for next to nothing and some of them have been known to go for around 2-3K. I'm sure you can find some other good places aswell, it's not just woolworths.
3) Here's one of my favorite tips, whenever a newspaper is giving away free CD's or DVD's, go to a local newsagent and buy the paper and ask at the till if they have any spare and unless the person serving you is a really moody git then they will give you some. Then do this everyday as the CD/DVD or whatever it is changes daily. And here is the best part, on the last day just before the newsagent closes go their and ask if they have any left. They might just have a few or the might have hundreds lol. I'm not sure if you remember before but they were giving Doctor Who dvds away in the sun. I sold about eighty of these making around 40,000 swapits.
NOTE:- Always state they came free in a newspaper as it's unfair on the swapper if you don't and it will probably get cancelled anyways if you don't.
4) Freebies, who doesn't love them? Search on google for free stuff for example "free keyrings" and you will find some. You can gets loads of free sim cards, samples and loads of other stuff. Some of it is actually quite decent. Check the "Freebies" section in the forum for some great freebies.
5) Buying to resell for more. Newbies are a great example here. Sometimes it is worth bidding as it will go really cheap and you never no, they might send. The way I see it, the more sutff you buy off newbies the more likely one of them is going to send making you a nice, juicy profit. Another good example is the brand new stuff swapitshop sell, not the consoles i'm taking consoles games, dvds ect. They often go for a lot more on eBay that they do on swapitshop so it is definately worth winning some of them.
Obviously, if you are a newbie you will have to start off with smaller things and work your way up. So enjoy your profits. I hope I have helped.
