The exchange rate should be the same, throughout the country shouldn't it? - Unless the place your getting the currency from charges commission of course.
The rates are from xe.com , which is rated quite highly etc.. and I get the rates of there daily, and post them here, so we can compare them each week, and see if its gone up/down etc, to see when it gets to a high point, and about to start going down etc,
And 1.26 Euros to the pound isn't extremely good.. it has been better. Im going to France for 3 weeks in the summer, so want it to go up! Lol _________________ Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells....

You would expect them to be the same across the country yeah. But there not always, some places offer a better rate than others. When I went Spain in April it was only 122 to the pound that'swhat I meant by a good rate. it's a lot better than when I went away.

Thanks, Yxz.
Very useful, I'm going to Miami on 17th August 2008, and i'm wondering when I should convert my money!
I do my converting in Tescos - and yes, it's pretty awesome exchange rates there

Heya,
Sorry have stopped updating this guide, because these rates are different to the post office rates.
I bought my euros on friday, and I got 1.22 euros per pound, which is okay ish, could of been better... It went up for 1.17 though.
I still advise you wait until the last minute though, as I am pretty sure its going back up.
If you want to check the post office rates yourself, which will be the same at any post office in the country, (0% commission as well), use this link:
http://www.postoffice.co.uk/porta...ageId=fex_main&catId=19300210
Select the currency from the dropdown and put in £1 and it will tell you how much it is to the pound

Glad to see that although it is not by much the rand is going down because I already got mine.
Although I'm taking some english money out there with me which I won't get exchanged for rand unless I run out of the rand, so towards the end of my holiday it would be nice if it went back up a little.
Maybe this should be unstickied if it's not getting updated anymore...?
