|
|
Someone won one of my swaps close now for 3,449 which was a brand new with tags bikini from Per Una at Marks & Spencer:
http://www.swapitshop.com/cgi-bin...ap_id=1302962&detailed_view=1
I sent it in a couple of days ago and it was received fine within the 14 days and they credited my 3,449 Swapits. However, I was just looking through my 'Completed' section and found that next to the swap it said ''Swap Cancelled'' instead of ''Swap Complete'' like it's meant to. So I went to double check that they'd definately credited my Swapits in my account details and they had, so I then went to check my emails and I had one of their generic ones saying:

Re: <font size =2 font color=FFFF00>White St George's Flag 'Per
Una' Bikini *NEW*, 2797748
The swap above has been closed. This is due to one of the following reasons:
*You requested we close this swap; or
*The item is unsuitable for posting on a youth site like SwapitShop; or
*The parcel did not contain the advertised swap or was in far poorer condition
than the swap description stated and was therefore intercepted by the SwapitShop
post room.
Swap items that are unsuitable for posting on SwapitShop are those that:
*Contain material of an explicit nature.
*Are described using inappropriate language.
*State that they are copied - all items must be original.
*Unable to be posted through the Royal Mail - items must be small enough and
legal to send in the post.
Swaps that are not as advertised:
If SwapitShop intercepts such items, the swap will not be forwarded to the other
swapper and the item will be destroyed. Items include those that are copied,
fake or in far poorer condition that the description would have lead the bidder
to believe.
Please refer to our http://www.swapitshop.com/swap_rules.html and the http://www.swapitshop.com/terms_swapitshop.html that you
agreed to when you joined SwapitShop. If you continue to swap items with
misleading descriptions, then we may unfortunately have to revoke your
SwapitShop membership.
If you have any queries, please contact us at info@SwapitShop.com
Happy Swapping!

So basically they've deemed it as innappropriate when they checked it in the post room, even though it was as described and everything They haven't given me a -4 rating point yet, but I'm wondering whether they will...? I've replied asking them exactly why they've cancelled it, but I'll be furious if I find they're selling it under one of their other usernames like they did with a DS console I sent back once...

That is bizarre indeed
I am interested to know what their reply will be - if they give you an answer.
The main thing is that you keep your swapits, and that you do not get a minus rating.
If they have kept it at SwapitShop, then it is very unfair on the other member who won it, as they will now think that badly of you, as they will assume it was cancelled due to something you did.

About a fortnight ago I put a swap up and it got closed for no reason. I emailed them and I still haven't had a reply now! _________________ The Sunday Quiz - Sign up now in the Forum Games subforum!

When this happens it's better to phone up about it. They will send you an e-mail explaining why about five minutes after you hang up. It's much better than waiting a week or so. _________________

This is the email I've written to them:
| Quote: | Hi,
I received an automated email the other day from you claiming that one of my swaps that you received was intercepted in the post room and deemed as innappropriate. The swapits for this swap had already been credited to my account so I was baffled to discover this cancellation, and clueless as to what you could have found wrong with my swap.
It was a brand new with tags bikini from Per Una at Marks & Spencer and was packaged in a jiffy bag, so I cannot see how it could have been damaged in the post. When it left my hands it was in perfect as new condition with its shop tag in tact, so I would be very interested to know what the problem is.
I will not be impressed if you later apply a minus 4 rating point to my account because of this apparently not-as-advertised swap. As far as I am concerned the item could not have been described better, and if the item is damaged I insist that I am not to blame.
Please respond as soon as possible as I would very much like to know what is going on here, and am irritated that the swap is not going to be forwarded to the winning bidder. |
I hope I get a reply tomorrow or something...it's doubtful but I just wanna know! Don't really need to phone coz it's not like they've taken my swapits away or given me a bad rating (yet).

They will probably try to blame it on Royal mail. You should ask them if there was a tear in the packaging too.
Well, at least they are returning the swap to you.
Please let us know if and when you receive it back, as you will be able to tell if it is a scissor cut.

Yeah I get to keep my swapits that I got for it, and they're returning the bikini to me, and they're not giving me a minus rating. So all's good apart from the fact that I'm now gonna have a bikini that can't be used by anyone and the winning swapper can't have it
