They sold me a Burtons Arcadia group £20 gift card for 1200 swapits.

When I went to the counter to pay I was told there was no credit on it and it had probably been stolen from another shop, because you are supposed to take it to the till and pay to have credit added on to it.

I have reported them to Swapit Shop but I doubt I will get my points back as I waited 3 weeks before going to the shop to use it.

I hope the rotten little thief gets what they deserve.

Try phoning SwapitShop and explain rather than e-mail, etc.

if you ring up SwapitShop i think theyll probly refund you your points depends if they believe you but then again these arent supposed to be sold on SwapitShop for that reason so you could pull SwapitShop up on that

Thanks for your replies, I received my points back from Swapitshop, I didn't need to telephone them.

I couldn't see anywhere in their rules that bans the sale of gift cards, I will stick to buying paper vouchers in future.

It's a pity that I can't warn everyone on Swapit shop not to buy these cards in case they are dodgy.
