BETWEEN 3 MEN, SO HE GAVE EACH MAN A £1.00 AND KEPT THE OTHER £2.00 FOR

HIMSELF.

THIS MEANT THAT THE 3 MEN EACH PAID £9.00 FOR THE ROOM, WHICH IS A TOTAL

OF £27.00, ADD THE £2.00 THAT THE BELLBOY KEPT = £29.00

So the real way to work out is:

This meant that the 3 men each paid £9.00 for the room, which is a total of £27.00, add the £2.00 that the bellboy owes them (so -£2) = £25.00

That was the second bill so no pounds are lost! lol

if they did then in total they would have paid £25

no pound are lost

but instead the boy keeps so

1st man recieves back: £1
2nd man recieves back: £1
3rd man recieves back: £1
bellboy recieves: £2
Total recieved: £5

so £30 - money recieved
=£30-£5
£25(the bill)
