I may seem stupid by asking this but....
I've got a question:
9) For each sequence find its general term, then draw a graph of the sequence:
a) 3, 5, 7, 9.
b) 1, 4, 7, 10.
c) ............
d) ............
etc
I know how to find a general term but what does it mean by draw a graph of the sequence? What kind of graph am I meant to do?
Thanks alot. 100 tokens and 5 karma is available to the person who helps me _________________ The Sunday Quiz - Sign up now in the Forum Games subforum!

General term ..simply is "what it goes up in, each time"
ie for example: 1) goes up in 2's
The graph will be to show how the "trend" goes, either falls or climbs.
Line graph your ment to do. well i did anyway, when doing about this _________________ Thankyou for buying over the 3 years and up till recently

I've never done graphs for nth term, but I'm guessing a line graph, with clear markers for the points. Your sequences are linear (There is the same gap between them, in case you son't know what that means.), so it should be a straight line. Do you have to find the graident of this line? If you do you can either:
a) find two points and find how many squares you have to go up (or down), this is your graident.
b) the harder, more complicated way, is the equation; (x1 - x2) divided by (y1 - y2). You find two coordinates and take the x coordinates away from each other, then the y coordinates. You then divide these.
Hope this helps. _________________ If God were human he'd be James Dean Bradfield

I don't need to find out the gradient of the line. Its just the nth term that I am doing and I dont know how to draw the graph of the sequence.
Thanks guys. Any more help would be appriciated _________________ The Sunday Quiz - Sign up now in the Forum Games subforum!

What would I label the y and x axis and how would I do it.
For the first one, the nth term is 2n+3 so how would I put that into a line graph? _________________ The Sunday Quiz - Sign up now in the Forum Games subforum!

I never had to do graphs for the nth term, but I'd just assume that you equal it to y in order to get your axes. So for 2n+3, use
y = 2n+3
then just sub in various values for x. So at
x=0, y=2(0)+3 = 3
x=1, y=2(1)+3 = 5
x=2, y=2(2)+3 = 7
